Influencer and beauty guru Suzanne Jackson has opened up about her marriage to husband Dylan O’Connor and his journey back to ‘peak health’.
Suzanne and Dylan tied the knot in her native Skerries, Co Dublin in 2017 after getting engaged during a dream holiday to the Maldives in 2015.
With the couple now living in their rented Portugal villa, Suzanne is delighted to have someone by her side who supports all of her business ventures.
‘I think in ways my focus now is business. I am very lucky to have Dylan. He is very supportive of me when I need him to be.
‘When things go tits up – as they do in business from time to time – Dylan is there, but for now his main focus is trying to get himself back to peak health.
‘We haven’t changed over the years, but, as you grow older I do think it is important to have your own goals and interests as a couple.
‘I have my life, he has his life and then we have a life together. I love the challenges in business, he fulfils those challenges in sport,’ she told VIP magazine.
Focusing on his health is a big priority for Dylan, who Suzanne said ‘doesn’t really’ consume alcohol anymore in a bid to boost his health.
She explained: ‘Dylan doesn’t really drink anymore. He has gone completely into the gym and is eating really healthy. He does swim classes at 9.30am; he is one of the fittest people there he has been told; he has just got himself a bike and is going cycling, too.
‘But Dylan has always been very sporty. He was even a pro golfer at one point.’
After taking a step back from her successful cosmetics business SoSu, Suzanne is hopeful that she’ll continue to find the perfect balance between her work and personal life as she prepares for her next venture.
‘Because I am so independent I love having my own space and my own goals. And yes it can get hard in any relationship to find that balance we all change but you have to find what makes it work,’ she said.
With the couple hoping to spend more time in the Portuguese sun, Suzanne is looking forward to soaking up the good weather on Dylan’s newly-purchased 60ft yacht.
‘He wanted to get the boat as an investment so he could charter it out. We bought it about two months ago but we were too late for this seasons so we said we would enjoy it this summer and charter it out next year,’ Suzanne revealed.
